The 2019-2020 runDisney race season at Walt Disney World Resort is coming right up and some big changes have been announced for both runners and spectators at the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.
First, there are changes to the Marathon course. Participants will run through Blizzard Beach Water Park, will spend more time running inside Epcot, and less time on the roads outside the theme parks. Also, the race will begin at 5:00 a.m., 30 minutes earlier than previous years.
The event will offer a new outdoor exclusive area for runners to take photos, pick up their gear, stretch, and recover from the race. ChEAR Squad packages will be offered for spectators to access to the finish line, the popular Magic Kingdom viewing location, and other amenities, but won’t allow access to the open-air runner experience.
More details still to come on the on-sale date for the new open-air runner area and ChEAR Squad packages.
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend takes place January 8-12, 2020.
