Walt Disney World Resort has announced several updates to the theme parks, including a months-long closure for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the last date to enjoy some of your favorites in DinoLand, the return of Jingle Cruise, and a postponement of the launch of The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Walt Disney World has announced that DinoLand, including TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park will close on January 13, 2025. Construction walls for Tropical Americas will be in place on January 13. DINOSAUR, the Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites will remain open.
Magic Kingdom
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom Park will close on January 6, 2025, for an extended refurbishment. The attraction will reopen in 2026 with new enhancements.
The original version of Jungle Cruise reopens on October 16, and Jingle Cruise will return to Magic Kingdom Park beginning November 2, 2024.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The debut of The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure, a theatrical production at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, has been postponed from fall 2024 to summer 2025. The removal of the old show marquee will begin in the coming weeks.
