In early November, we reported that talks between Disney and Fox had cooled off, but according to The Wall Street Journal, they’re heating up again.
If Disney’s acquisition actually happens, the Murdoch family would likely keep their sports and news properties while the rest of TV and the film studio goes to Disney. The Murdoch clan is reportedly hoping to have a conclusion reached by the end of 2017. Deadline mentioned that there has been radio silence between both studios, much like how it was when Disney made both the Marvel and Lucasfilm deals, so we may not hear a thing until an announcement is made.
