Disney Is Planning on a Muppets Series for Their Upcoming Streaming Service

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Disney is planning on creating a Muppets original series for their upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service. Disney already has announced that the streaming service would include shows based off their intellectual properties including Star Wars, High School Musical, and Monster’s Inc., and there has been talk of a possible Mighty Ducks series ending up there, but outside of that little else has been announced about exactly what content will be featured in their streaming service.

ABC recently attempted to bring The Muppets back to television, but that effort failed as the show was canceled in 2016 after one season.

This news has not been made official by Disney, and the company declined to comment when The Hollywood Reporter reached out to them.
