Earlier this month, we told you about the ‘Disney Villains After Hours’ version of Disney After Hours that’s coming to Magic Kingdom Park this summer and today, the Disney Parks Blog has shared more details about the stage show titled, ‘Villains Unite the Night.’
First, a DJ will be on the Castle stage to get the party started as the Central Plaza of the park turns into a “killer club scene.” Once the party is hopping, the DJ will introduce your “Caretaker” – the Lord of the Dead, Hades, who shows up in a “burst of blue flames.”
With Meg by his side, Hades sits atop his dark throne awaiting the alignment of five planets, following a prophecy that states when the five come together he will be able to rule the universe. But this dastardly plan doesn’t go quite as expected when an assemblage of Disney Villains interrupts his party. Jafar, The Queen, Dr. Facilier, and Maleficent arrive with henchmen in tow, prepared to showcase their power with spine-tingling displays of skill. It seems these villains have also heard the prophecy and believe they are the ones who will rule all.
Kate Pappas, the managing producer with Disney Parks Live Entertainment, said that she feels guests of the party will really enjoy the new show. She also said that the “show is going to be more than 20 minutes long and run three times each night of the event, so everyone will have a chance to see all these great villains on stage. Add in our amazing DJ, and the hub of the park will be pulsing with energy all night long!”
For the very first time, Maleficent in her Steampunk Dragon-style will be released from the ‘Festival of Fantasy’ afternoon parade and will creep through the park breathing fire.
Additional experiences during the party will include “a live crew of scurvy scalawags” at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction who are in search of treasure and a new musical underscore on Space Mountain with villains pestering guests as they speed by.
Guests can also expect special food and beverages along with special event merchandise as well as low wait times at more than 20 attractions and experiences across the park.
‘Disney Villains After Hours’ tickets cost $139 plus tax in advance, $144 plus tax on the event night and will go on sale April 29. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members receive a $30 discount on their tickets.
