There’s some big nighttime energy at Magic Kingdom tonight, and it’s straight out of Never Land.
Peter Pan and Wendy have been part of the Disney Starlight parade since it first debuted, but up until now, their scene stayed pretty grounded. That all changed tonight. For the first time, the two characters actually took flight during the parade, and it completely changed how that moment feels.
Disney shared a quick video of it, and it’s just what any Disney fan could hope for. The pair fly up above the float, as if Tinker Bell herself sprinkled some pixie dust their way. The whole shot instantly gives off Never Land vibes. It’s not over-the-top. It’s just… right.
And the best part? It was a complete surprise.
There wasn’t a big announcement ahead of time or any hint that something had been updated. Guests just happened to be watching the parade and suddenly realized something was different. Those are the kinds of surprises Disney does really well.

Before this, the Peter Pan and Wendy section was nice, but it didn’t quite stand out like this. I’ve never seen the parade in person, only watched little bits and pieces on video, but it never felt like it was missing anything to me. Now, it finally leans into what makes those characters special in the first place.

It’s also a good reminder that Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away might not be a “set it and forget it” parade. If they’re willing to make changes like this after it’s already been running for months, there’s always a chance more updates could pop up over time.
For guests who’ve already seen the parade, this gives you a fantastic reason to watch it again. And if you haven’t seen it yet (like me!!), you’ll just get to experience this version from the start.
Either way, it’s a small change that makes a HUGE difference.
And now, when that float rolls by, you might want to look up instead of straight ahead.
