The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is located in the Grizzly Peak area of Disney California Adventure (DCA) and offers slides, kid-friendly rock climbing, tire swings, lookout towers, and interactive caves. Redwood Creek feels reminiscent of one of California’s National parks with plenty of shady trees and bubbling creeks. If you’ve ver visited DCA with kids, you know Redwood Creek Challenge Trail offers the perfect balance of being a playground that’s also enjoyable for the parents to spend time at.
Even better, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail has added a new adventure called “Mabel’s Seek & Find” themed to the Disney/ Pixar movie Hoppers. Just like in Hoppers, guests have to follow the pond rules and get all of the animals back to the glade. Plus, you get a pretty cool souvenir map and character sticker.

At the entrance to Redwood Creek, you’re given a map with instructions and clues based on which character you pick – Tom Lizard, King George, Ellen Bear, or the Insect Queen. Each character comes with a unique mission and a corresponding sticker.

The map of Redwood Creek has different activity spots but the decoder at the top of the Mt. Shasta Lookout is where you’ll want to go to get decode the secret message. Along the way, guests will learn about weather, electricity, woodland animals, and a glimpse of what it’s like to be a park ranger.

You also can’t leave without visiting Mabel herself in the glade! This very cute photo op often has a PhotoPass photographer and plenty of seating to enjoy the views.

If you’ve never been to Redwood Creek, you should definitely check it out on your next visit to DCA! There are activities for almost all ages, including the young at heart. I’m always surprised how large this area of the park is and the theming is so relaxing. Even if you’re not planning on going down a slide or walking across a rope bridge, Redwood Creek is a nice place to stop to get a picture with Mabel from Hoppers, get some shade, and just take a break from the busy park outside.
