Disney Unexpectedly Shuts Down Star Wars Mobile Game

Star Wars: Rivals, a mobile game in which users played as characters from the Star Wars Universe in a real-time action shooter battle, will be permanently shutting down on October 11, 2018. The game also featured a single player campaign.

The news is unexpected as the announcement of it shutting down came only one month prior to it concluding operation. Additionally, the game is still fairly new as it wasn’t released in the United States until earlier this year.

As of September 11, the app is no longer available for download, and all in-app purchases have been turned off. The game was previously available for free, but the in-app purchases ranged in price from $4.99 to $99.99. No refunds will be offered for any of the in-app purchases users may have bought.
