Rena Langley, Senior Vice President, Walt Disney World Communications and Public Affairs, announced Wednesday evening that groundbreaking on Disney’s new affordable housing development is targeted for next year, with expected completion on some of the first units in 2026.
When the project was announced last year, we learned that it would be located in southwest Orange County near the Flamingo Crossings retail and services area and would be available to “qualifying members of the general public,” including Disney cast members.
Disney made it clear today that with this expansion, they want to “make a positive impact wherever [they] can in [their] community” so that “more Florida families will get access to attainable housing, in addition to creating new Florida jobs as part of the construction and operation.”
