Disneyland closing early to test new shows?

Starting last night and continuing off and on for several nights leading up to the kick-off of the Diamond Celebration, Disneyland Park will be closing early at 7:30pm.

Rumors on social media were circulating that Disney was closing the park to test new fireworks and the new parade. Several posts on Twitter featuring video and pictures of fireworks, which appear to be for the new “Disneyland Forever” fireworks show, corroborate this rumor. Noise ordinances in Anaheim prevent Disneyland from launching fireworks later than 10:00pm.

The Diamond Celebration honoring Disneyland’s 60th birthday begins May 22nd and in addition to “Disneyland Forever” will feature “Paint The Night”, a new nighttime parade.

Disney did not comment on the rumors, but acknowledged the closures.
