Disneyland VP Niven: No MagicBands

In a recent Los Angeles Times article, Mary Niven, Vice President of Disneyland Park, states that Disneyland Resort guests won’t be seeing MagicBands in the near future.

At Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, MagicBands are used heavily, replacing park admission tickets and hotel room keys.  Guests also have the option of attaching a credit card to their profle.

Niven added that MagicBands,  don’t fit with the local-heavy demographics of Disneyland guests, most of which don’t stay for long periods at the Resort hotels.

In the same article, Disney Chief Operating Officer Tom Staggs acknowledges that guests will be seeing Star Wars in the Parks, but not at the expense of favorite attractions.

According to Staggs, “We will look at ‘Star Wars to be a plus while not taking away from things that people love.

No specifics have been offered about the inclusion of ‘Star Wars’ at the Disneyland Resort.
