Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Imagineering had some exciting new information for the upcoming expansion to the Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando. The Star Wars and Disney Parks: A Galaxy in the Making panel had some much anticipated details on the new land! Below is a video shown at the panel earlier today!
The panel discussed the theming of the new land. Apparently the location will be themed as a planet on the Outer Rim, on the “edge of the Unknown Regions.” The location was once a major trade port, but with the advancement of hyperspace travel the village is now largely passed by. Because of this it is now a great nesting ground for those looking for less attention, like “smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space.” Apparently the village is a “safe-haven for others intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order.”
