Exciting Updates From Disneyland’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Tiana's Bayou Tank Tiana's Bayou Tank 2023

Of all the changes coming to Disneyland, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is the most highly anticipated. Imagineers are adding the final touches. Here’s what we know.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Construction Updates

Guests have been anxious to see what the new attraction will be like. As construction continues, each new day brings us closer to finding out!

Most recently, more signs have been put up for the attraction. The first is the “Main Entrance” sign. Guests can see it posted in the same spot where the former “Splash Mountain” sign was once located. It’s above the door just before entering the indoor portion of the queue. Speaking of the queue, the wait time signs have also been put up! This could mean a few things, but more on that later! Last but not least, there is a new sign above the tunnel of the first lift hill. It reads, “Tonight Only–A Celebration Between Family and Friends of New Orleans At the Proud Home of Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen–Everybody’s Welcome!”

Probably the most exciting update is…they have started TESTING the ride vehicles by sending them through the attraction! There weren’t any people aboard the boats, but this is still a massive sign of progress!

What We Know

So what do all these new additions mean? While it gives us some answers, it also leaves us with some questions. Some signs and exteriors look almost identical to those in the Walt Disney World version. However, unlike the Rise of the Resistance and Mickey’s Runaway Railway attractions, the layout of this Disneyland log flume attraction differs from its Disney World counterpart. So we can’t expect the new Disneyland version to be the same as the Magic Kingdom version that has already opened to the public, but it gives us an idea.

It also made guests wonder if the new attraction would open with a simple standby line and Lightning Lane, or if a Virtual Queue system would be utilized like they have been doing for new attractions in recent years. So far, we know a Virtual Queue is being used for the Magic Key holders previews that will continue through November 12th.

The best part is that construction seems close to wrapping up. There must not be much left to do to the structures if signs can be hammered onto them now. It also indicates that we may be getting closer to an announcement from Disney regarding more previews and maybe a soft opening. Either way, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is officially opening on November 15, 2024, and the excitement is building more and more every day!

Magic Key Holders can pick up a commemorative keepsake poster in honor of the attraction’s opening. Check the Magic Key Portal for dates and times!
