
For the month of February, the featured artists at the WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney will highlight their love-inspired artwork.
Artisan of the Month – Brittney Lee
“Brittney creates the kind of charming and effervescent characters that can leap to life in a wide variety of applications from traditional animation, CG animation and book illustration to stunning fine art cut paper sculptures. As a visual development artist at the Walt Disney Animation Studios, she is well-known for her work on Frozen and Zootopia.”
Lee will showcase her work from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on February 1st and 2nd.
Artist in Residence – Gabby Zapata
“Gabby Zapata is an illustrator and visual development artist in the animation industry. Born in sunny Los Angeles, Gabby has a passion for fun bright colors that are often reflected in her work. She majored in Computer Animation at Ringling College of Art and Design. Gabby has worked for several studios doing character designs and visual development.”
Zapata will greet guests and provide live art demonstrations from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on February 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, and 23rd.
Artist Showcase – Jarrod Maruyama
“Jerrod (‘Hipster Mickey’) is an illustrator who also studied at San Jose State University and his specialty is making character designs and all things cute.”
Maruyama will appear on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Tom is the host and producer of the DIS Unplugged: Disneyland Edition podcast, plus Disneyland Editor of The DIS. He enjoys traveling with his wife and teenage son. At this point, their favorite destination is Alaska, with a FIFTH cruise there planned for the Summer of 2019. In his spare time he volunteers with Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, and help found his son's former Cub Scout Pack. His favorite Disneyland attraction is Space Mountain.
