Did you know that today is National Wine Day? To help you celebrate, the Disney Parks Blog has given a sneak peek look at the interior of the new Wine Bar George which will open in late 2017 at Disney Springs.
Master Sommelier George Miliotes will share his expertise featuring wines from various growing regions in the United States and from abroad as well. More than 100 selections will be available, both by the bottle and glass.
Miliotes describes Wine Bar George as a “comfortable-yet-lively environment that’s reminiscent of a renovated winery. Guests will experience a feel reminiscent of the ‘Old World’ as if they are on the bottom floor of a gravity-flow winery surrounded by their best friends.” Some of you Disney fans may remember Miliotes from the California Grill, where he managed the beverage program from 1995-2002.
The design for the 6,000-square-foot space features wood ceilings, concrete floors, warm lighting and a welcoming atmosphere.
Cheese and wine pairings will be available along with some shareable options. Miliotes says that a number of ways to experience and explore wine will be offered. Shareable plates will also be served and will include cheese and charcuterie to complement the wine. Miliotes also mentioned that they will change their offerings as ingredients come into their prime.
You can expect a bit of wine education with some humor thrown in too. “Good wine and good food go together,” says Miliotes. “At Wine Bar George guests can enjoy the trifecta: exceptional food, renowned wines and as much wine knowledge as they wish.”
