It comes as no surprise, but Frozen 2 opened at number 1 in the box office. Through Friday the film has already grossed $99.6 million worldwide. Internationally the film “earned $57.8 million in its first three days” and domestically it earned $41.8 million.
The Walt Disney Animation Studios is now expecting that through the month of November the animated film will earn between $110 million and $120 million.
The huge numbers are rolling in despite the fact that Frozen 2 hasn’t been scored as strongly on Rotten Tomatoes as the original 2013 film. Current Frozen 2 has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 75% fresh, while the original scored a 90% fresh rating.
Frozen 2 was directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and stars Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad.
