As part of a recent resort tour hosted by Disney, we had the opportunity to stop by Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and step into one of the newly refurbished Cars Family Suites.
Before the renovation, the rooms (pictured directly above) featured carpet, and a darker color scheme.
While the renovation to the Cars Family Suites might not have been as extensive as other renovations have been, the changes are immediately seen and felt. The carpet has been replaced with hard surface flooring, which, for guests with allergy concerns, will be a welcomed sight. The color scheme has been changed and lightened dramatically, and a wall mounted flat screen TV has been added.
The same kitchenette as before remains in the room, and it features a mini refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and sink. The original artwork highlighting Doc Hudson has also (thankfully) survived the renovation.
The Murphy bed and table combo is still just as you enter the room, and two bedside tables are on either side of the bed. USB ports and outlets are above each beside table.
The sleeping Mater headboard is just the cutest thing. The family suites sleep up to 6 adults.
The paint scheme and flooring changes extend to the bedroom. The mattress has been replaced by a more comfortable version, and the bed frame allows for luggage storage underneath.
The original dresser and bedside tables remain, however, as is also the case with the dresser in the living room, the elevated toppers have been removed. The bedroom has also received a new wall mounted flat screen TV.
The bright and fresh carwash-themed bathrooms have remained.
As of last Tuesday, all family suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort have been refurbished.

Deni loves all things Disney, and, in 2013, moved to the Magic from Maryland. Walt Disney World is her happy place, and she loves getting to share it with others. Deni and her husband of almost 26 years have 2 grown children. Her favorite WDW snack? A Mickey Bar, of course. Is there any other?!
