Marvel Television to Become Part of Marvel Studios

As expected when Kevin Feige became Chief Creative Officer back in October, consolidation has started in the division with the Marvel Television unit becoming part of Marvel Studios.

Jeph Loeb, who oversaw Marvel Television, will stay on during the transition, with senior vice president of current programming and production Karim Zreik, plus members of his team, heading over to Marvel Studios. With the change, sources say that a couple dozen layoffs are expected.

In addition to Marvel Television, Marvel Family Entertainment, which focuses on animation, will also join the Marvel Studios unit.

Several of the new Marvel series heading to Disney+, including Loki, WandaVision, and Falcon & the Winter Solder, are already being produced by Marvel Studios, so the move today was not a surprise.
