Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has added three eye-catching desserts to the menu at The Mara, giving guests even more reasons to stop by for some unique merchandise in the Zawadi Marketplace, a look at the simply breathtaking lobby and pool area, and then grab a sweet treat during their Walt Disney World vacation.
These offerings take inspiration from the African savanna and the resort’s unique atmosphere. The desserts are visually striking, featuring animal-inspired designs and they sound delicious with the creative flavor combinations.
The new Giraffe Cake Bar is a colorful dessert that’s coated in yellow chocolate with a giraffe-print design. Inside, you will find layers of malva pudding, marshmallow fluff, and caramel. The combination of soft cake, gooey filling, and chocolate coating makes this one of the more unique treats currently available at Walt Disney World.

Also new is the Africa-shaped Sandwich Cookie, which is designed in the shape of the African continent and decorated with chocolate zebra stripes. The dessert features vanilla shortbread cookies filled with raspberry jam and vanilla icing, creating a sweet and slightly tart flavor profile. Yum!

The Caramel-Banana Cupcake makes a sweet return to the menu. This cupcake is topped with banana buttercream and caramel-chocolate Mickey ears. The cupcake starts out with a vanilla sponge and is filled with a caramel-banana filling, making it a great choice for a sweet finish to your meal.

The Mara is a popular quick-service dining location that’s located inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, offering everything from African-inspired specialties to grab-and-go snacks and desserts. These new savanna-inspired sweets add another reason to stop by, whether you’re staying at the resort or making a special trip to see the animals and explore the lobby.
