SeaWorld San Diego has announced plans for a new 3-acre aquarium based attraction.
Ocean Explorer will feature aquariums filled with octopuses, spider crabs and hundreds of jellyfish, plus 5 rides, including the signature submarine ride that will travel through the area.
There will also be a wave-swinger ride themed as a jellyfish where guests will dangle from the tentacles and fly through a field of bubbles.
In addition, the area will feature several special aquariums with interactive research pods.
Construction will begin this summer, pending approval from the California Coastal Commission, and the opening is expected to be late Spring 2017.
