Earlier this year, we learned that 2026 will bring new updates, including a refreshed gameplay experience to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom.
Today, we got an early look at the new ride vehicles that are coming as part of the attraction’s refurbishment.

First, the updated ride vehicles will include handheld blasters similar to those found at the same attraction in Disneyland, along with a digital display showcasing unlimited high scores. No more 999,999!

The blasters will incorporate tactile feedback and lasers that remain activated for improved targeting, featuring color-coded lasers that correspond with your specific blaster.

Each blaster will have two colors to help you better visualize where you are aiming.

The refreshed attraction will also debut an exciting new ride scene that introduces “Buddy,” an advanced animatronic support robot designed to enhance the rider’s experience.

As the ride begins, Buddy will greet visitors and conduct a detailed “final systems check.” This engaging pre-game sequence will allow guests to familiarize themselves with the new equipment and refine their targeting and blasting skills in a fun, interactive environment. By the time the scoring begins, guests will be well-prepared and energized, ready to dive into the thrilling challenges that await them.

As the Disney Parks continue to evolve, the updates to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will bring a fresh spark to one of Tomorrowland‘s most beloved attractions. From the enhanced ride vehicles to new touches of interactivity, these changes aim to make the mission to defeat Zurg more fun and immersive than ever. Whether you’re a first-time recruit or a seasoned Galactic Hero, the upgrades promise to keep this fan-favorite ride shining bright for years to come. So grab your blaster, aim for those high-value targets, and get ready to go to infinity… and beyond!
