
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the ninth and final chapter of the saga, continues to dominate the box office, bringing in over $72 million this weekend and a total of $136 million for the five-day Christmas holiday period.
The successful weekend brings the film’s total to $361 million domestically and $725 million worldwide, making it the 7th-highest grossing movie for the year in the United States and 10th globally.
Sony took the next two spots, with Jumanji: The Next Level remaining at number two and Little Women opening in third. Disney’s Frozen 2 and Fox’s Spies in Disguise round out the top five.
Frozen 2‘s total domestic box office is now at $421 million, taking it past the $400 million of the original film.
