The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District conducted its Board of Supervisors meeting on Wednesday and announced a new “whistleblower” policy. Board Chairman Martin Garcia explained that the intention of this new policy is to encourage transparency and openness as, apparently, some employees didn’t feel that their concerns were necessarily heard under the prior Disney-aligned leadership. Board members stated this new policy goes into effect for nonunion members immediately and for unionized employees, August 1, 2023, at the earliest, and will supplement existing protections in state and federal law.
We want to adopt a policy that says we don’t have deaf ears, nothing will fall on deaf ears. So if you have an issue, here is a new policy. Here is a new culture.

In addition to announcing the retirement of two senior officials, Fire Chief Richard LePere Jr. and Bruce Jones, director of procurement, the district revealed its new logo.
