EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival is celebrating its 30th anniversary now through November 21st! Food & Wine Festival includes over 200 unique menu items at nearly 30 Global Marketplaces and the Eat to the Beat concert series featuring artists like Fitz and the Tantrums, Boyz II Men, The Beach Boys. With so much to do and EAT, it can be hard to prioritize which World Showcase pavilions to spend time and money in.
Even on a non-festival day, Germany is a classic choice for caramel treats, German beer, and the miniature train village. Walt Disney Imagineering recently refreshed the train village with Disney touches and now Food & Wine Festival identical to those found around EPCOT.
The Food & Wine Festival Marketplaces include France, Bramblewood Bites, Greece, and Hawaii. At each booth you can see Cast Members serving food and guests taking pictures and even eating on top of trash cans. Classic Festival behavior! Details include 30th Anniversary signage and Festival photo-ops. It’s so exciting to see seasonal additions added to the newly improved train village. It only means we can expect the same for Festival of the Holidays, Festival of Arts, and Flower & Garden Festival!
Disney fans will especially enjoy looking for Dreamfinder, Dr. Seeker stealing Carnotaurus bones, and Snow White’s cottage. Be sure to plenty of time looking at the fun details… perhaps while enjoying a Festival beverage?
Germany Festival Marketplace
Germany is always a great place to stop for hearty dishes and unique beers – Food & Wine is no exception to this!
Weihenstephaner Festbier, Freising – 12 ounce pour – $9.75
Believe it or not, the Festival Marketplace is the ONLY place in EPCOT’s Germany you can enjoy an Oktoberfest beer! Heading into September, a “festbier” feels just right. Weihenstephaner is the world’s oldest brewery still in operation, having been founded in 1040 in Bavaria. This is a solid Oktoberfest with rich malt flavors.
Schinkennudeln – pasta gratin with ham, onions, and cheese (Emile’s Fromage Montage offering) (30th Anniversary legacy item) – $5.29
The Schnikennudeln is not only fun to say but a returning favorite for a reason. It may look like fluffy eggs but in reality it’s a flavorful, filling mac & cheese topped with a thick layer of cheese. This is a family-friendly option and because of the cheese and dense noodles, you could easily share this one making it a great deal for five bucks!
