Two New Series Coming to Disney Channel amp

According to Deadline, Disney Channel will be going forward with two new animated series that are expected to premiere in 2019. It was also announced that Star vs. the Forces of Evil, which was created and produced by Daron Nefcy, has also been renewed for a fourth season.

Amphibia follows Anne, a 13-year-old girl, who finds herself in the magical world of Amphibia! Amphibia is a giant marsh inhabited by frog-people. In Amphibia, Anne meets a frog named Sprig, and the show chronicles their friendship. Amphibia has been created and produced by Matt Braly.

The other new series is titled The Owl House. The Owl House is the story of a teenage girl named Luz who mistakenly finds a portal that brings her to the Demon Realm. Luz meets a small group of friends including a witch named Eda and a warrior named King. Luz becomes the witch apprentice of Eda, despite having no magical abilities.

The general manager of Disney Television Animation Eric Coleman said, “Amphibia and The Owl House are both set in wildly imaginative worlds and share hallmarks of great Disney storytelling, including fantastical elements and memorable characters.”

In Season 4 of Star vs. The Forces of Evil, Star Butterfly and Marco Diaz “continue their adventures in Mewni.”
