Beginning today, Walt Disney World has updated their terms to their Disability Access Service, extending the validity period from 120 to 240 days.
Disney significantly updated the DAS program back in May, narrowing the qualifications to possibly obtain the service to guests who, “due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time”. This greatly reduced the number of qualified guests. Despite the backlash of many, Disney has continued with their updated eligibility requirements.
Those that do still qualify for the program will be welcoming today’s change. Before the changes in May 2024, DAS eligibility would be valid for up to 30 days. After May’s changes went into effect, the validity period was extended to 120 days. Now, Walt Disney World has extended that validity period again to 240 days.
Walt Disney World’s website reflects the following update:
How long is DAS valid? DAS is valid for the length of the ticket or up to 240 days, whichever is shorter. Once the service has elapsed, Guests need to re-register for the program.
