Why You Should Ride Cosmic Rewind on September 21st

‘Do you remember the 21st night of September?’

Disney specially programs Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to play one song and one song only on each September 21st, and it’s PERFECT.

What truly sets this roller coaster apart is its soundtrack. Imagineers curated an “Awesome Mix” of six songs that Peter Quill himself would be proud of:

  • Disco Inferno – The Trammps
  • I Ran – A Flock of Seagulls
  • Everybody Wants to Rule the World – Tears for Fears
  • One Way or Another – Blondie
  • Conga – Gloria Estefan
  • September – Earth, Wind & Fire

These songs play at random on each ride, there is no set way to request or determine which song you’re getting before you launch back into the cosmos. But now, September 21st is a special date for EPCOT thrill seekers, as a new tradition of exclusively playing September by Earth, Wind & Fire all day began last year. Just this morning, Disney teased the return of this funky disco tradition. If you’re visiting the Guardians next Saturday, be sure to snag a virtual queue return time, or purchase a Lightning Lane to join the party!

Now if only a standby queue was available so we could truly enjoy the 21st of September the proper EPCOT way: all day and night.

And maybe we could figure out which date Everybody Wants to Rule the World would play all day…
