Disney Segway lawsuit sacked

A class action lawsuit filed in response to Disney's policy of prohibiting Segways for guests with a mobility disability has been dismissed.

In his findings, U.S. District Judge Gregory A. Presnell dismissed the suit based on the plaintiffs having no plans to visit Walt Disney World.

The three plaintiffs claimed that Disney's Segway ban was in violation of the Americans with Disabiliites Act. Disney contends that they provide acceptable alternatives for guests with limited mobiility and that Segways pose a safety hazard.

In response to the ruling, Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Polak said "We asked for dismissal and the court agreed it was appropriate. We provide a variety of accommodations to guests with disabilities, which allow them to fully enjoy our theme parks." The plaintiffs have yet to comment on the Judge's decision.
