The protracted action against housing in the Anaheim resort district appears to have come to an end with the adoption of an initiative by the city council.

By a vote of 3-2, the policy adopted by the Anaheim council requires that housing proposals for the resort district must be put up for a public vote.

Councilman Harry Sidhu had previously opposed the initiative but changed his stance with the inclusion of the vote requirement.

This action means that the measure will not be on June's ballot. Sidhu expressed a desire to avoid the $250,000 cost that would have incurred. Following this action, the councilman commented "Let's move on and let's work on providing more housing."
