Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that Disney is in talks to turn their newest animated film, Frozen, into a Broadway musical. Frozen won a Golden Globe last weekend for Best Animated Film and has been a huge hit for Disney, grossing $669 million in the box office before even opening in China and Japan. It's been the biggest film for Disney in 20 years and is close to surpassing The Lion King's box office numbers. The soundtrack has stayed at number one on Amazon and iTunes, so it isn't surprising that Broadway may be in its future. The songs were all penned by three-time Tony awarding-winning Robert Lopez, known for Broadway's Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon, and his wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who among other projects, worked on Winnie the Pooh and Disney's Finding Nemo - The Musical.

When asked of a timeline for the project, Iger said, "We're not demanding speed. We're demanding excellence."
