Guests at the
Japan Pavilion at
Epcot have a new drink option, one that isn't available anywhere else in the continental U.S. Frozen Kirin draft beer is a light frozen topping, similar to ice cream, which tops your glass of beer, keeping it cold for 30 minutes. Unlike ice cream though, this isn't a child's dessert. The topping is actually made of beer and is quite popular in Japan, available at 650 locations. It is also available in Honolulu, Hawaii. In Epcot, the frozen beer sells for $8 and is available at
Kabuki Cafe and
Tokyo Dining.

Bob Miller, dining operations for Mitsukoshi USA says, "The guests were apprehensive, but very curious. But once they try it, they often come back for another and bring their friends - it definitely makes the beer colder and keeps it colder longer, which is a good think in the Florida sunshine."
