Disney is closing all of the Pleasure Island nightclubs on September 28. The Adventurer's Club, Mannequins, 8 Traxx, Comedy Warehouse, Motion and BET Sound Stage are slated for shutdown.

Disney advised the impacted employees of the closure on Friday. Plans are in place to find positions for the 300 displaced workers in the theme parks.

The decision is based on creating a more family friendly atmosphere. Disney is stating this in response to guest feedback.

Currently under construction at Pleasure Island is the T-Rex restaurant which will feature life-size dinosaurs. A Hanes design your own T-shirt store is also in the works.

It is believed that Disney will be adding a tethered balloon which will allow guests to view Walt Disney World from an elevation of 300 feet.

The changeover to restaurants and shops is expected to take two years. The current dining and shopping venues will remain open during this refurbishment.
