Why Watching Disney and Universal Podcasts Helps Plan Your Orlando Vacation

There is a lot to know when visiting Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. There is so much information out there on these theme parks that it can seem overwhelming. If you enjoy these parks, but haven’t found a great way to take in all the information out there I highly suggest listening or watching podcasts. Obviously, I am biased and I prefer watching the DIS Unplugged channel of shows, but this goes for all Disney and Universal podcasts. The more you listen to the Disney and Universal podcasts, the better understanding you’ll have when you actually visit these parks. Here are my 3 main reasons you should listen to or watch the Disney and Universal podcasts:

3) Hearing Advice From People You Learn To Trust

Listening to any podcast allows you to become a fly on the wall. For example, when listening to the DIS Unplugged Channel of podcast shows you are listening to a conversation among friends about Disney, Universal, and the Orlando area in general. You learn to trust these people. Week after week you will soon learn which podcasters you agree with, and then on your next Disney or Universal vacation you can apply their suggestions. The reasons I became so invested in watching the DIS Unplugged show every Tuesday is because I learned that I could trust the opinion of the podcasters at the roundtable.

2) Updated Information

For years my parents bought the unofficial Disney World guide books at the local bookstore before our vacations. These guidebooks were great, but often times they were quickly outdated. Changes in the theme parks in Orlando happen rapidly, and trusting the information from a book that is written a year or two before you go on vacation means trusting old information that can easily confuse you if it is now wrong. This is why podcasts are so great, the information they are providing is up to date. Even small details are discussed weekly, which will make you feel like a Disney expert by the time you arrive in Orlando.

1) It’s a Community of Disney and Universal Nerds Like Yourself

This is a judgment free zone. Listening to a podcast allows you to listen to Disney and Universal nerds like yourself discussing what we all love. Oftentimes at home you might feel alone in your fandom of the Orlando theme parks. Many of my friends from my hometown and university didn’t truly understand why I loved visiting these parks so much. I am guessing you have felt that too. The podcasters are a group of people who share your love. Every time I listen to the DIS Unplugged I always feel connected to a community. Looking in the comments and chat section I’ve learned that there are many people around the world who share this love. It is fun to be able to talk to people who actually care for the theme parks the same way you do.
