According to an article on Bloomberg, Florida’s Division of Bond Finance, Ben Watkins, says that Florida lawmakers will likely reestablish the special Walt Disney World district that allowed the company to govern specific municipal functions such as trash collection and emergency services for the property among other things. To remain exempt from major inspection, Central Florida theme parks must list all of their quarterly incidents and injuries with the state. This quarter’s report (April – June 2022) covers a total of 18 incidents/injuries, with 13 belonging to Disney and 5 to Universal.
