As 2025 unfolds, there are a few areas I’d love to see the Walt Disney World resort explore to keep the magic alive for both long-time fans and first-time visitors alike. From a certain snack return to a merchandise collection that will surely clear my bank account, here are three things I’d hope to see from Walt Disney World in the year ahead.
A New Bride for The Haunted Mansion
Ever since last year’s Haunted Mansion movie, I’ve been wondering when Disney would arrange a major makeover for the theme park attraction’s current iteration of the Bride in the Attic. Now that we’ve seen some new imagery of this character over at Disneyland, and while we await rumored changes for the west coast’s version, this is one more thing I’d like to see inside Florida’s mansion. For being one of the mansion’s certified homicidal ghosts, I just feel like she should be just a little bit scarier than how she looks today. I mean, have you seen how she looked in the past?!

Additionally, since she’s the only character represented in the east coast’s Attic scene, I feel like she deserves a facelift from a flat-screen. Mind the pun. But, please, don’t mind my bitterness about the Hatbox Ghost’s incorrect placement…
The Return of Magic Kingdom’s Citrus Swirl
Hey, it’s not ALL about the Dole Whip. As I’ve previously discussed here, I find it silly for Disney to continually push the Little Orange Bird as a mascot for Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland or even EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival without the delicious Florida treat he’s known for representing: the Citrus Swirl. The tangy orange slush combined with sweet vanilla soft-serve is such a classic Florida offering, and was a Magic Kingdom snack staple up until the mysterious disappearances over the last few years. I’m hoping they get the ingredient or machine issues worked out so we can finally enjoy our beloved Citrus Swirl once again!
New Vault Merch Collection
The best part of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary was the merchandise. I was such a big fan of the Vault Collection: a retro capsule of designs straight from the Walt Disney Archives. This collection paid the ultimate tribute to 50 years of Magic Kingdom, recreating items from opening day and continuing on through the decades. From the 1970s castle motif, vintage park maps and plush designs, all the way up to 1996’s Cake Castle, this collection was a dream come true for longtime WDW visitors. I’d love to see this same concept of merchandise made for Walt Disney World’s other parks and hotels. Bring back those true retro designs, please!
Just imagine t-shirts and memorabilia plastered in opening year designs from EPCOT Center and Disney-MGM Studios. I also think it’s high time we see the return of the “Tigger, Is That You?” apparel at Animal Kingdom from the early 2000s.
What Would You Like?
These are just a few things I’ve dreamily requested from Walt Disney World in 2025. With my overactive imagination, along with all the removals, additions, and changes ahead at the parks, I’ve got a few more ideas to discuss another day. In the meantime, what do you think of these three selections? What would you like to see at Walt Disney World this year?
