One of my favorite parts of my Disney vacations is Disney dining. I love tasting all the delicious foods that Disney theme parks offer. As a Disney College Program Alumni, I still have a large number of friends who are residing and working at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. Prior to visiting Walt Disney World in August 2014, my friend told me to check out the recently updated Friar’s Nook menu in the Magic Kingdom.
The Friar’s Nook is located in the heart of Fantasyland. This counter service restaurant has most definitely kicked their menu up a notch. Previously, the Friar’s Nook served the run of the mill Disney hot dog and fry combo. The Friar’s Nook now features their spin on a classic American comfort food, macaroni & cheese. Three different macaroni & cheese entrees are featured on this menu: Bacon Cheeseburger Macaroni & Cheese priced at $8.99, Pot Roast Macaroni & Cheese priced at $8.99 and Macaroni & Cheese topped with toasted Panko Bread Crumbs, which is priced at $7.99.
I am a huge pot roast fan, so I immediately was sold on the Pot Roast Macaroni & Cheese. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this Mac & Cheese was absolutely delicious! The Pot Roast itself was well seasoned, very tender and complemented the warm, gooey and cheesy macaroni & cheese well. The portion size was most definitely enough to feed one person. The macaroni & cheese was very rich and could easily be shared between two people. I personally couldn’t finish the entire cup. My only complaint was that the portion of pot roast was a bit on the small size. I just wanted more pot roast because it was so yummy!
Don’t fret if you have hot dog lovers amongst your group! The Friar’s Nook still features the traditional hot dog served with chips for $7.49, as well as a Macaroni and Cheese Hot Dog for $8.99. If you are looking for a quick Disney meal that is a little different, seriously delicious and reasonably priced, make sure you try some of the new menu items at the Friar’s Nook.
