As a local, I can visit Walt Disney World weekly. It’s fun to be able to ride the attractions when the whim hits you. I also like to take time to just appreciate the details in the parks without the rush of getting to an attraction.
We had a lovely Florida evening in February recently. We had friends visiting and decided we wanted to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The park wasn’t very crowded, and the wait times weren’t too bad. None of us had bought Lightning Lane or made reservations. Everyone did get to ride the attractions they desired without much of a wait. The rest of the group sat and enjoyed the details of the attractions around us.
Did you know there are no opening day attractions left in the park? I loved it when the park focused on the movies. You could also see a real animation studio while they worked on new Disney Movies. Did you know Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, and Brother Bear were made here?
Do you know what the technique in the image below is called? WDW uses it on the trees in the parks to control the tree’s height and shape, so they look like a full-grown tree. The technique is called pollarding. You can use this fact in your next Disney trivia game.
- Slinky Dog Dash is identified as being made by “James Industries,” a tribute to Slink’s late actor Jim Varney.
- The roller-coaster box says “Made in Emeryville”, referencing the location of Pixar’s headquarters.
We headed over to the Grand Avenue area to enjoy Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo. This attraction and quick-service location will be closing June 8, 2025.
The park seems to come alive once the sun goes down with all the neon lights.
‘Til next time, see you in the parks!
