Walt Disney World announced this week the ability to create your own unique MagicBand while you are in Magic Kingdom. The new MagicBand on Demand station is inside the Tomorrowland Power & Light Co. location next to Space Mountain. (formerly the arcade and gift shop)
I was excited to personalize my MagicBand. I think I currently have close to 20 of the MagicBands, some from resort stays, some I purchased in the parks, other have been customized with skins. This would be the first time I could personally customize my band. If you just want a custom band it will be $21.95. If you would like your name on it also it will be $29.95.
They now have a purple band and that was a color I was lacking. I hope they bring the customized bands to Epcot so I can get a purple Figment band! There are unique designs only available at Magic Kingdom.
Once you make your personalized band you receive an order number. You will tell the cashier your order number and you will pay for it. You will get a slip of paper with your order number on it to claim it when the band is done. We were told it would take 25 minutes for the band to be ready. We decided to stick around and watch the process.
If you would like to wait for your MagicBand, you could take this time to charge your portable electronic devices. There are 72 outlets for your devices along the inside wall.
You could also take the time to relax in the massage chair. It was the best $2.00 I have spent in the theme parks.
Finally I claimed the MagicBand at the counter. The first thing I noticed is how much lighter and more flexible it is over my other MagicBands. I don’t like the feel of the band on my wrist so I enjoyed the new band. You are given a paper with your MagicBand to link it with your tickets on your My Disney Experience account. If you have internet access you can do this immediately or if you are purchasing it as a gift you can link the band with the tickets later.
This new option for your MagicBands could be dangerous to the wallet. They have so many choices available for your MagicBand and phones.
Have you purchased one? What did you think? ‘Til next time, See you in the parks!
