Celebrate Soulfully has brought special offerings to celebrate Black History Month this February at Walt Disney World! While this celebration only lasts a month, we love what we’re seeing and hope some of these offerings are made permanent at Disney World.
Probably the most talked about of these is “Tiana’s Famous Beignets” available at the Golden Oak Outpost in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland. This walk-up window is located to the left of the much-anticipated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, giving hope Tiana will grace us with more of her “man-catching beignets” in the very near future!

The line for these limited-time beignets has been consistently long – the demand is real, folks! In addition to the main event of beignets, you can order loaded chicken strips, chili cheese fries, and sweet tea slushies. I think these loaded chicken strips are asking for a Disney Snack Attack! or at least a Hannah Snack Attack!
Speaking of Disney Snack Attack!, the DIS Unlimited team obviously had to have Tiana’s famous beignets. Unlike our experience at Disney’s Port Orleans, the humidity was low and the tension had subsided. Be sure to check out this full reference here!
Priced at $6.99, Tiana’s beignets are served with strawberry sauce and loads of powdered sugar. Unfortunately, the beignets were not nearly as good as those at Port Orleans French Quarter and left the team confused. While the beignets were delicious in their own right, they were more similar to a croissant than a beignet. To me, this is an insult to a New Orleans-native like Tiana and I am positive this is not her original recipe.
While these beignets were not a beign-yay moment, we’re hopeful Disney sees the demand and consults Tiana next time for her authentic recipe!
Next on our journey to try Celebrate Soulfully offerings, we stopped in Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe specifically to try the Fried Green Tomato BLT Sandwich. This twist on a BLT comes with house-made chips and consists of fried green tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, and bacon-pimento cheese spread for $10.99.
The team was not impressed with the presentation and all felt the Texas toast should have been buttered and toasted longer. Despite having good flavor, the bacon-pimento cheese spread did not taste like pimento cheese and the bacon should have been crispier. This limited-time sandwich got a “meh” review from the team, but we all felt the value was good. Any new addition to the Pecos Bill menu is much needed and we’re all hoping Tiana will move in to bring her New Orleans cooking to the Magic Kingdom.
You can Celebrate Soulfully all February long at each of the four Walt Disney World parks and each of the resorts! Let us know which of the special offerings you’ve enjoyed the most!
