GoofyCore at Communicore Hall in EPCOT is one of the fantastic additions to Disney World this summer in celebration of Cool Kids’ Summer. The air conditioned, opened space hosts games and dancing with Goofy plus a live DJ until 6 pm on most days. Not only is it a great place for your kids to play and interact with Goofy but it’s a perfect respite for families to sit down inside during the hot summer months.
To further add to the offerings, you can grab snacks, drinks, and even beer for the grown-ups at the outdoor food location called “Grab ‘n’ Goof”. The themed menu is fun for all-ages and you’ll be surprised how delicious it all is.
Chicken Goof-Ups – Just Bare brand lightly breaded chicken breast bites with fried cheese curds and “Goofy sauce” – $5.99
Both the nuggets and the Goofy sauce remind us of Chick-fil-A’s version. Honestly, they should offer an option of just the nuggets by themselves. The cheese curds are also a hit! They have a good cheese-pull factor and are great with the sauce. The combo is decadent but a very filling theme park snack for $5.99. You won’t be disappointed!
Goof Troop Mac Snack – fried macaroni & cheese with marinara dipping sauce – $5.49
The fried Mac and cheese will have you saying “gawrsh!” it’s so good. It’s lightly fried with tons of creamy cheese sauce and Mac inside. The marinara adds a nice acidity to cut the rich cheese but isn’t necessary. Even if you’re not planning to hang out inside GoofyCore, I would stop to grab these.
Goody’s Gone Fishing – blue raspberry lemonade with strawberry juice-filled pearls plus shark and fish gummy candies served in a Max and Goofy souvenir sipper – $19.49 ($6.99 without souvenir sipper)
I mean how cute is young Max and Goofy fishing? There’s even a boot at the bottom of the sipper because Goofy is likely going to catch it instead of actual fish. The drink is sweet and but not too syrupy and the strawberry pearls are plentiful and tasty. I was most surprised to find so many of the gummy fish in our serving – this would be a great surprise for kids!
I wish GoofyCore was a year-round addition to EPCOT. It’s a great concept for families and the addition of fun food items with place to relax is perfect. Don’t miss GoofyCore and Grab ‘n’ Goof this summer until September 8th!
