At Walt Disney World, the Halloween game this year was strong. Decorations, treats, characters, atmosphere—no one does it better than The Walt Disney Company. It was the perfect place to spend time leading up to the spooky season, even if you weren’t one of the guests lucky enough to enjoy the evening last night. But in true Disney style, the theme park entrance isn’t where the magic ends. This year, Walt Disney World teamed up with Starlight Children’s Foundation to surprise some excited young hospital patients across Florida and make their Halloween a little brighter. On-site celebrations included character visits and costume donations as part of a special Halloween Party that Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse helped to host.
“It’s surreal seeing him react to Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. I’m happy seeing him happy and getting to do things that normally he can’t do – especially since he’s been landlocked for about a year now,” said Josh, a father of one of the patients surprised during these special visits.
We love how Disney strives to spread their magic beyond the parks, giving back to the local community. Joined by the Starlight Children’s Foundation, spooky season fun was brought to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Tampa.
