There are a few reasons why I love Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs. First, it has a fantastic story that feels like it is straight out of a movie. (If you don’t know it, read this tale here.) Second, you only have to enter this space to know there is something truly special about it. There is an unmistakable ambiance, with a dedication to the theme and environment that feels wonderfully unique. Lastly, (101 other reasons in between) it’s nothing short of delicious. From the daily menu to the monthly specials, you have to be quick to get a taste of their incredible creations. This month, Gideon’s released a White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut Cookie that impressed from day one. Unfortunately, ingredient shortages had other plans for the month, forcing this iconic snack stop to make some fast changes to its February lineup:
Hi! I’ve got a bit of tragic news. Circumstances outside of our control have shortened the release of White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut this February. Today is expected to be the last day at both locations. Quality is uncompromising at Gideon’s, and it’s shaping up to be a challenging year as we face ingredient shortages and continued price hikes that will make some menu items unavailable. I prefer to shelf an item rather than release it with low-quality ingredients, and I’m sure you would agree that’s better than lessening the Gideon’s experience. But have no fear! The Strawberry Delight is still available through Valentine’s Day as an epic alternative, and my team is hustling to prepare a replacement Limited Edition Cookie to drop this Saturday! Credit where it’s due; it’s a tricky decision to put quality ahead of your bottom line, and I was truly impressed to see them tackling the issue head-on with a public statement. While the Valentine’s Day Strawberry Delight remained available through the weekend, the powers that be were busy working on another creation to wow guests through the rest of the month. With a little quick thinking, the Key Lime Chocolate Chip Cookie has made its way to center stage.
A new BONUS Limited Edition Cookie for February swoops in to finish the month! It’s the Key Lime Chocolate Chip Cookie! Our beloved Vanilla Bean Cookie Dough is infused with Florida Key Lime Juice and covered with Chocolate Chips and our special Key Lime Pie Crumbs. It’s the Cookie version of a chocolate-dipped Key Lime Pie on a stick, and it’s a favorite for me and many on the team!
