It’s always exciting to catch an inside look at some of our favorite Disney attractions with the lights on. In an Instagram Reel posted by @waltdisneyimagineering, Tessa, show set designer for Imagineering, walks through Test Track as work is currently ongoing in preparation for the classic EPCOT thrill ride’s reimagining. (You can watch the full video here!)
Originally announced at Destination D23 back in 2023, Test Track is currently receiving a revamp inspired by the original EPCOT Center attraction centered around transportation: World of Motion. Disney says the updated Test Track will celebrate today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future. The queue will feature six exhibits – each room will honor the vehicles and the people behind them who push the boundaries and drive us forward into the next chapter of our journey in motion.
New show scenes will highlight technological advancements and explore how our evolving relationship with mobility connects us all. It’ll still be the Test Track we know and love – a thrilling ride through scenes that showcase onboard technology, customization, and personalization – with an added scenic journey through indoor scenes and outdoor vistas, celebrating the simple joys of driving, appreciating the world around us, and sharing quality time with friends and family. Road trip!
EPCOT’s reimagined Test Track is slated to open in 2025.
