Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is the highlight of a “spooky season” vacation to Walt Disney World! It’s your chance to trick-or-treat at the Magic Kingdom, see your favorite characters from the Haunted Mansion come to life, laugh along with the Sanderson Sisters, and experience the thrill of Space Mountain in the dark. Halloween starts earlier than ever at Disney World and we’re excited to bring you all the festivities from the first night of the party!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a specially ticketed event separate from your Magic Kingdom theme park admission. This frightfully fun event is offered select nights August 7th – October 31st with tickets ranging from $119 to $229 plus tax. The party is held from 7:00 p.m. until midnight, and you can gain entrance to the Magic Kingdom starting at 4:00 p.m. exclusively using your MNSSHP ticket.
1. Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade
8:15 P.M. AND 11:15 P.M.
See your favorite characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes, plus rare Disney Villains and familiar ghosts from the Haunted Mansion! The parade follows an eerie visit from the Headless Horseman, who slowly trots through the parade route. The parade, of course, kicks off with the host of the event, Mickey Mouse in his Halloween costume, joined by Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow dressed as the Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus.
Other rare characters you can see during the Boo-To-You Parade include a lot of villains like Captain Barbosa, Oogie Boogie, and, Mother Gothel.
The highlight of the parade is undoubtedly The Haunted Mansion section with a visit from the Hitchhiking Ghosts (Phineas, Ezra, and Gus), ghostly ballroom dancers, and of course, the shovel-wielding grave diggers.
TIPS: The parade starts in Frontierland and ends on Main Street, U.S.A. for both parade times and the Headless Horseman comes out around 15 minutes before the parade begins. The 11:15 P.M. parade tends to be quieter.
2. Trick-or-Treating
The trick-or-treating experience has fun additions for the 2026 party! Extra theming includes special lighting, music, and surprise character experiences. These additions made trick-or-treating feel like an experience rather just grabbing free candy… plus who doesn’t love Halloween candy?

TIPS: Trick-or-treat towards the end of the night. The lines are shorter and the Cast Members typically give you more candy. Also, bring an extra tote bag for ALL the candy. You’ll likely receive more than what fits in the provided trick-or-treat bag.
3. Halloween Overlay Attractions
Mad Tea Party – special lighting effects and music make this spinning attraction feel even more “mad” than usual. Even if you’re too full from candy to spin on the teacups, the lighting and music pours out and adds to the atmosphere of the party.
Mickey’s PhilharMagic – the show transforms into a trick-or-treat location playing classic Mickey and friends cartoons. This is a great spot to escape the heat (and potential rain) while enjoying a classic Disney cartoon and candy.
Space Mountain – experience the classic rollercoaster through space in pitch-black darkness while listening to a spooky soundtrack. The Halloween Party version of Space Mountain is totally unique is a must-do.
Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor – you can still get heckled by Monsters, Inc.’s top comedians while also breezing through to get candy. Yet another fun place to relax and people watch while enjoying free sweet treats.
While not Halloween Party-exclusive, low wait times are also a huge perk of the party! You can hope on Big Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Peter Pan’s Flight in 30-minutes or less. The addition of being able to easily hop on attractions makes the party feel like the best version of a park day!
TIP: Attractions have lower wait times during the two parade times. The 8:15 P.M. parade is a great time to get a few attractions in with lower wait times.
4. Character Surprises and Unexpected Entertainment
MNSSHP does a great job of completely changing the atmosphere of Magic Kingdom. There are plenty of photo ops, Halloween music, special lighting, plus surprise character appearances and dance parties.
New this year is Stitch’s Tomorrowland Dance Party and Jack Sparrow mingling in Adventureland. It’s so fun to see Captain Jack interacting with party goers and what kid doesn’t love a dance party, especially when Stitch is there.
It’s also so special to happen upon residents of the Haunted Mansion while waiting in the fog-filled queue and seeing the “Cadaver Dans” perform in Frontierland.
If you’re use to experiencing characters only in a parade or a meet and greet location, these special interactions at MNSSHP are when memories are made. It’s nice to see and experience Disney magic without necessarily having to wait in a line.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party hasn’t changed much in recent years and honestly, it really doesn’t need to. While new additions are always exciting, these highlights keep us coming back and make the party worth experiencing!
