New Holiday Film Exhibit Debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Just as soon as I finished writing a love letter to Disney’s Hollywood Studios regarding the park’s Christmas decor, Disney surprised us with even more holiday cheer! And can you believe it includes more Muppets?!

Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has officially debuted a new seasonal refresh for 2025. As of today, November 14, the attraction now features a holiday-themed exhibit, “Disney Takes a Holiday“, showcasing artifacts from several Disney holiday films, along with a limited-time lineup of classic animated shorts playing in the theater.

The exhibit opened to guests this morning, and once I discovered you can stare at Tiny Tim’s tiny (yeah, I said it) costume from The Muppets Christmas Carol, I quickly made my way over to capture an early look at the new displays.

The seasonal update also coincides with this year’s Santa Claus meet and greet, housed inside the same space, making Walt Disney Presents one of the central holiday stops at Hollywood Studios.

The newly installed display highlights screen-used pieces and curated artifacts from four well-known Disney holiday productions:

  • The Santa Clause
  • Noelle
  • Babes in Toyland
  • The Muppets Christmas Carol

The items offer an up-close, behind-the-scenes look at costumes, props, and design elements from each film (in true Hollywood Studios form).

Approaching the back of Walt Disney Presents, just ahead of the theater, you’ll notice this new themed mural:

…Complete with stockings for some of the characters from the featured films:

The first display includes costumes and props from The Santa Clause film series, including the silky red pajamas worn by Tim Allen, Comet’s name tag, the Naughty and Nice list, snow globes, and Bernard’s velvet costume.

The next display features toys and vintage souvenirs from Babes in Toyland (1961):

In the far corner just across from the theater, you’ll spot the display for Noelle (2019), including costumes worn by Anna Kendrick, and the Book of Santa from the film:

Finally, the cream of the crop (in my humble opinion), is the display devoted to The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992). Stop and stare at the tiny craftsmanship of the screen-used costumes — worn by our fuzzy felt friends — including Bob Crotchet (Kermit), Tiny Tim (Robin), Rizzo the Rat (as himself) and Charles Dickens (Gonzo). There’s also a miniature model of a village house used for the film.

NOW PLAYING: Classic Animated Holiday Shorts

In addition to the exhibit, the theater inside Walt Disney Presents is currently screening a rotating set of classic Disney animated holiday shorts.

The lineup includes:

  • On Ice
  • Pluto’s Christmas Tree
  • The Art of Skiing

All three shorts run a combined 23 minutes and play continuously throughout the day, making the theater an easy place to take a quick rest while enjoying seasonal animation. The doors remain open during screenings, and guests tend to come and go between shorts. For a quieter viewing experience with less distractions, sitting toward the front or along the far-left side of the theater works best.
