It’s Spring in Walt Disney World, and that means lots of visitors to the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.
This might be the time for a refresher on park etiquette. I saw a few things that surprised me.
The Butterfly Garden near Soarin‘ is beautiful again this year. Parents, please stop your children when you see them grabbing at the butterflies and moths. I even saw two parents trying to grab them to hand to their kids. They are for the enjoyment of everyone, to admire not to hold. I wonder how many are killed by guests every festival?
As we walked by the Norway pavilion and the Frozen topiary, we saw adults and children standing in the flower bed by Anna and Elsa. They were trampling the flowers. We couldn’t believe it! Adults, you know better.
Be considerate of those enjoying the festival in wheelchairs. It is amazing how many people step directly in the path of a wheelchair. A little courtesy goes a long way.
Finally, we were almost run over by an ECV, not the type that you can rent from the theme parks. It had a lot more speed than the theme park models. I totally understand the use of them, but please slow down, and look when you are turning a corner.
I am looking forward to spending more time in EPCOT while the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival is going on. Please remember to bring your manners to the parks so we can all enjoy the beautiful displays! ‘Til next time, see you in the parks!
