With this year’s first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Party kicking off this Friday, August 7, the iconic autumnal decor has arrived at Magic Kingdom‘s Town Square and Main Street U.S.A. areas… all while we’re still feeling the heat of summer with a delightfully crisp and refreshing 95 degrees and humidity. Fans and solar umbrellas in hand, the sight of those Mickey pumpkin wreaths lining Main Street still gives us a boost of Halloween & Disney Parks serotonin we’re all in need of.
Autumnal bunting now hangs from Main Street Train Station. The Mickey Mouse flower bed hasn’t been decorated just yet.
Inside the park, Halloween decorations now blanket each building within Town Square, line every lamppost of Main Street, U.S.A., and jack-o-lanterns stud each building’s rooftop, officially kicking off the spooky season.
I believe the cutest jack-o-lantern can be found sitting atop the Chamber of Commerce. That little gourd is so happy Halloween is here!
The Fire Station not only features Dalmatian-themed pumpkin carvings, but a jack-o-lantern pointing towards the restrooms. Wow.
Town Square theater is done up in autumnal garland lining the columns.

Many of the orange and white jack-o’-lanterns on the rooftops above Main Street storefronts feature custom carvings that reflect the shops they sit above, including a Mickey Mouse film strip above the Main Street Cinema, and ice cream desserts above Plaza Ice Cream Parlor.
Disney’s Holiday Services and Cast Decor teams spend all year preparing for this seasonal switch. After guests leave for the evening, teams roll in and work through the night to line rooftops, windows, and walkways with unique jack-o’-lanterns, bunting, and more.
And we can’t forget about the beloved Town Square scarecrows, dressed as citizens of Main Street, including the mayor, a marching band player, a baseball player from Casey’s, bakers from the Confectionary, and others.
My personal favorite? The one dressed like a Main Street Emporium Cast Member, complete with a shopping bag and Mickey Mouse doll. (Seriously, can they sell a rag doll like this inside the Emporium?!)
The star of the show will always and forever be the iconic Mickey pumpkin wreaths. Those grinning, round-eared jack-o’-lanterns framed by fall leaves and sunflowers.
For many of us Disney enthusiasts, fall doesn’t truly begin until you see those Mickey jack-o’-lanterns smiling down from every lamppost. From the rooftop pumpkins to the festive scarecrows and autumn bunting, all signs point to HALLOWEEN!
