Disney Lakeshore Lodge – Walt Disney World’s next Disney Vacation Club resort – is taking big leaps as construction progresses. The nature-inspired luxury resort will be located on the shores of Bay Lake, just next to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, and is set to welcome guests in 2027.
On a recent trip to Fort Wilderness, we noticed the buzzing lodge construction site, offering glimpses into the future structure.
Six massive cranes are moving right along, as second story framework has been solidified, and third stories are beginning to form. Disney has not yet confirmed how tall the resort will be.
This is a reimagined project following the halted Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge originally announced in 2018. Reflections was going to be a luxurious, nature-inspired resort with more than 900 hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas. However, the project was quietly put on hold due to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The site remained mostly inactive until recent signs indicated that the project may be making a comeback, and Disney updated the project to Lakeshore Lodge.
Although Disney has not released many details for Lakeshore Lodge, they have shared that the resort “will be inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”
Past concept art shows some intellectual property may be woven into the theming, as Bambi, Thumper, and Flower can be spotted:
