When I first discovered the theme of the gingerbread display at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, I laughed. Of all the things to represent the Boardwalk… a ferris wheel, a roller coaster, maybe a carousel (okay, that is at the Beach Club), I never expected a DELI. But wait, it’s actually kind of cute!
You’ll find this display in the lobby of Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. While it’s on the smaller side of Disney Deluxe Resort gingerbread displays, it’s still a pretty impressive piece of confection with fun little details to take in. Let’s take a closer look!
On the lobby-facing side is a Happy Holidays greeting below a Mickey-shaped wreath featuring tiny pieces of candy and gingerbread men.
Miniature Christmas trees line the sidewalk, adorned with pastries and Santa Mickey hats. Look at that little black & white cookie!
Art imitates life:
Here’s the cutest part: through the display’s windows, you’ll spot Mickey and Minnie baking in a fully-stocked kitchen.
You’ll find silhouettes of other characters through the other windows – these are backlit with a flickering warm glow. The entire building is decked out in candy decorations, complete with a functional clock, white icing roof, and red & green sprinkle garland. There are so many little hidden Mickeys to be found!
Along the opposite building side is a larger Mickey wreath, featuring our some of our favorite character’s faces.
Just across from the display within the Boardwalk’s lobby, you can pick up some gingerbread treats.
Similar to the Grand Floridian, the Boardwalk has their own gingerbread themed limited-edition pin and ornament:
I just love visiting Walt Disney World’s resorts this time of year. Are you planning on visiting the gingerbread displays on your next trip?
