Disney’s BoardWalk has always been one of the most unique resort destinations at Walt Disney World. Inspired by the seaside boardwalks of Atlantic City and the Northeast during the early 20th century, the resort first opened in 1996 and is celebrating its 30th anniversary throughout 2026. While many guests stroll the waterfront on their way to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it’s worth taking a little extra time to explore the shops, restaurants, and lounges that give the BoardWalk its own personality.
Tucked along the BoardWalk promenade, the Screen Door General Store carries everyday essentials alongside snacks, Disney souvenirs, and a collection of merchandise created specifically for Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. From apparel and drinkware to ornaments and accessories, these exclusive items celebrate one of Walt Disney World’s most beloved Deluxe Resorts and aren’t typically found throughout the rest of property.
The BoardWalk is also in the middle of several noticeable changes, with new dining and shopping experiences under construction along the waterfront. While those projects continue to take shape, there’s still plenty to discover inside the resort’s existing shops, especially if you’re looking for a more unique souvenir to commemorate your visit.
